    December 2025 Newsletter

We remain a very small charity with a very big heart, and this year your kindness has touched the lives of people more than you might imagine.
Thank you for helping us wrap young lives in care, dignity and joy. As 2025 draws to a close, we want to pause to share what we have been up to and to say thank you.

Together, we placed 80 Fi Hug Blankets into the beds of babies through Baby Basics Milton Keynes offering warmth, comfort, and the quiet message that they matter.

Our heartfelt thanks to Tracey Russell, Julie Anderson, Isabel, and Glynis Buckle for their hands and hearts that make these possible, and to Amy Watts for donating so much wool that now warms babies up.

We have also worked alongside Bucks fostering networks and hygiene banks to deliver 50 packages for children who are taken into care to provide them with some immediate dignity and care.

There were beautifully handmade bags, each filled with essential personal hygiene items. It is harrowing to know that some children arrive in care with absolutely nothing, not even a toothbrush. Now they have their very own toilet bag.
These bags say welcome, you matter.
Thank you to Glynis Buckle for crafting personalised wash bags for every child, each perfectly stitched with love. Thank you, Maria, those boxes were heavy!

We also made a difference to individuals. One local child in foster care celebrated his 6th birthday with us, surrounded by people who cared, a table full of food, and a bold trip to the skate park on a brand-new scooter. It was a day that made memories for all of us. His smile said everything.

We also funded tickets for local children with additional needs to go to the circus. We worked with STARR, a Big Top show especially designed for children with additional needs.

Thanks to Trish and her monthly donations, the circus came to children who would not have otherwise gone. We offered a hand to help someone sick.

Some of our efforts are still a work in progress. We began the important work of refurbishing the children’s interview room at Milton Keynes Police Station, a project that continues…..

You may have noticed we didn’t fundraise through running this year, not because nobody ran (Adam ran 50km… twice!), but because we chose to take a year off asking you to sponsor miles. Your generosity sustained us, nonetheless.

We have kept our work to local young people support during 2025 but thank you to Peter for continuing to support Tushinde and Fi Day Care in Mathare, Nairobi.

Tushinde’s foster programme now has 40 children in foster homes instead of orphanages. We hope we can combine forces with foster care communities in Bucks and share training ideas in the future.

Our thanks also go to Heidi Fuller, who has transformed and funds our website and will join us as a Trustee in 2026. To all our Trustees, past, present and future, who help bring cheer, hugs and hope.

Finally, to everyone who has offered thoughts, prayers, time, energy, knitting needles, donations and steadfast support across Buckingham, Milton Keynes, and beyond: thank you. Every single act becomes a hug. Every hug makes a difference, as if Fiona herself were there.

    2026 and beyond.

We have plans!!!!!!! If you would like to donate to help our 2026 work we would love you to do so, please click here but this is a thank you, not a request, so have a Christmas hug from us.

With gratitude, Marion and all at Fiona Foundation for Kids xx
